but even if you dont compare Sakura to Naruto and Sasuke she's still pretty weak compared to others in the manga, even in the rookie nine? i mean when it comes to fights and stuff she always ends up being pretty useless still.

ninjawithwifi:

Um? I’m assuming this is in reference to that post I just reblogged. So, I’m gonna explain you a thing. Because lemme tell you this topic is something dear to my heart.

Sakura Haruno is literally the ONLY member of the Rookie Nine who doesn’t come from a ninja clan. Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Hinata, Shino, and Kiba were all born into and raised by ninjas. They grew up surrounded by their family’s jutsus and techniques. When they needed help training they had multiple people who could help them, who specalized in the things they would need to know. Naruto and Sasuke both come from a ninjas, even if they weren’t raised by them (other than Sasuke’s early years). Sakura is the ONLY one of the Rookie nin who isn’t from a predominant ninja clan where she would have been raised under the expectation of becoming a ninja. Instead she had the power to chose what she wanted to become. And she chose to become a ninja. She could have easily chosen something easier but instead she chose to better herself and walk the hard painful, lonely  (even though she was to young to realize it at the time) path. And not only did she walk it she fucking owned it like she was Tyra Banks on a runway.

As a child, the only thing Sakura really had going for her was her brains, chakra control, and her drive to better herself and need to be acknowledged by others and make something of herself. All she wanted was to be seen as useful and to be acknowledged and you know what? She’s done that. She’s helped take down s-class nin and she can hold her own in battle. She can both kill and save with the same two hands and if that isn’t badass I don’t know what is.

She has grown so much over the course of the manga. Sakura has had arguably the most growth out of any of the main characters. Naruto is still, bless his heart, that stubborn, golden-hearted boy who’s light and sweet and powerful. Sure, he’s matured but overall his character hasn’t changed. He still wants to save everyone and bring out the good in everyone. Sasuke on the other hand is still an angst ridden asshat with a superiority/power complex. (and while that might seem a bit harsh you know it’s all true, especially after this last chapter) But SAKURA? Sakura went from being this utterly useless fangirl who could pass any written test you put her way, but when it came to the real world was completely lost and ineffective. Sakura went from being this naive little girl to this wonderful young woman who can break boulders and save lives. But more that that she’s matured and changed emotionally. She’s no longer that selfish child she once was. She’s seen evil in the world. She’s had her entire world bruised by betrayal and emotional pain. She was brought down to her knees by it all and all she could do was cry and beg or help. But you know what? She got back up. She picked herself up and dried her tears and dusted herself off and she got better.

She got better without the assistance of a giant chakra beast or devil eyes or curse marks or clan jutsu. By all accounts everything was piled against her and she shouldn’t have succeeded. But hold hell did she succeed. And that’s why Sakura is a fucking queen that deserves your respect. Even if she gets ‘in the way’ of whatever dumb pairing you might like which is totally a rant for another day holy hell

As the original post said, comparing Sakura to Naruto and Sasuke is really not fair. Those two have taken down some of the strongest ninjas. Most of the time when Sakura does get involved in a fight she holds her own. It’s only when she’s with Naruto and Sasuke that she gets shoved to the sidelines so that they can shine and take on the bad guy. But that also happens to everyone else in the manga, too. Sakura’s an amazing character who’s usefulness doesn’t like solely in her physical strength (though she has plenty of that). And if you think that the only measure of her worth as a character is how many bad guys she can take down, I’m going to need you to reevaluate some things. Cause at the end of the day, when those two overpowered idiots decide to have their huge ass fight and almost kill one another. It’s gonna be Sakura who has to come in and pick up the pieces and heal them back together. Cause that’s what she does. Her strength doesn’t lie in her ability to knock somebody else down, but instead it lies in her ability to always pick herself and others back up again.

tl;dr I could write ballads and novels and poems and essays on how wonderful this pink haired ninja is. On how fucking awesome she’s capable of being. I could do that. But somebody already did. And you can read all about it in this little manga called Naruto.

//rant over. sorry for babbling but holy hell i had a lot of emotions and just needed to get this all out. bleh. probably missed about 2340284 points i could’ve made but whatever. you get the jist
